Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre, Coningsby, Lincolnshire, LN4 4SY.

Visitors are led on a guided tour around the BBMF hangar by knowledgeable volunteer guides, who in many cases, have first hand experience of the aircraft. Aircraft include The Bomber and The Fighters.

Aviation enthusiasts will know that Lincolnshire is known as the

Bomber County of World War II. No less than 93 airfields could be found

in the South and East of England during the War and some still exist today. Within two miles of The Stables Studio is the Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre. Here, you can recall the life of 106 Squadron. There is an original gymnasium with displays of many artefacts that relate to those flyers, aircrew and ground staff who flew and offered support to the squadron during its presence in Metheringham.. Events and lectures are also held here.

Open the last weekend in March to last weekend in October, Wednesday 12pm - 4pm, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 12pm - 5pm.

Groups welcome by prior arrangements.

Waddington

The Viewing Area

An excellent location to view the activities of resident and visiting national and international military aircraft from this purpose built viewing area, located South of Lincoln on the A15.

Waddington has also been the home to the RAF's largest airshow  since 1995 and is staged at the beginning of July each year . Click here for dates and full details.

Visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby and see one of the last flying Lancaster aircraft. The latest RAF fighter - the Eurofighter Typhoon has recently made this its base.

At RAF Scampton you will find the Red Arrows display team. This airfield was the home of the Dambuster Squadron and a memorial to them can be found in Woodhall Spa. Also in Woodhall Spa you will see the Petwood Hotel used by the RAF Officers.
